My stash of fabric scraps from past projects has been piling up, I have bits of yarn unraveled from old clothes, thrifted lace, and more. So I thought since I've been getting back into photographing mushrooms, why not make a mushroom doll?
Sometimes I get stuck on thinking I need to stick to just one medium like sewing, crochet, or knitting--but for these, I plan on embroidering details, gluing on embellishments, adding beads, and crocheting tiny appliques.
The first prototype took me a few days and now I know how to improve the basic pattern. This one is a bit of a mess with pen marks, visible stitches, and I quickly glued on bits to just visualize the final look.
Even with all the imperfections, I started to get attached to it so I'm planning on fixing it up later instead of removing bits and starting over.
I'm going to start on the next design soon. I'm not going to plan anything ahead, just going to pick and choose fabrics as I go along.
